Mackenzie Latt - Professional Women's Basketball Player

“So glad we had that talk... it’s been really keeping my head and my heart where it needs to be through these last few, close losses. (I’ve had) opportunities to walk with some of my teammates through (each) tough loss, (sharing) how we can still find God all over the situation, sometimes even more so after a loss than after a win! Sounds strange but He’s been giving me such a sense of peace after each of these games where I’ve been in the right state to be able to listen to what He wants me to say and how He wants me to say it and relay those messages to who needs to hear them... continuously in awe with what He’s doing on this team, how He used you to talk to me, and everything that’s happened afterwards! I’m so grateful!!!”

Mackenzie Latt embodies the epitome of success as a student-athlete at Davidson College, discovering how to truly love and love well. She modeled this quintessential key to life thought the way she served and therefore lead her teammates, respected and honored her coaches, and encouraged and inspired all who had the pleasure of watching her play or merely having a conversation with her at the student-union or in even catching an uplifting smile in passing.

Mack uses her platform as an athlete to be a positive influence to the world around her, which in turn as made that world a better place as her life communicates that there is so much more to our time here on earth than sport.

Elizabeth Eddy - National Women's Soccer League, NC Courage

"It was soo helpful to have someone to listen and point me to scripture as I went through a wild and wonderful time in my life playing soccer at USC, living in the Delta Gamma sorority house, and getting my degree in business, and I wouldn’t have chosen anyone else to be my mentor, confidante, and advocate for how to live that phase of my life to the fullest for Jesus! It wasn’t perfect, but it was so good. God is so good for having my path cross with Hanna Halteman. I feel truly blessed to be lead by such a powerful, loving woman lead by Jesus!"

Elizabeth’s passion to boldly approach her gift of athleticism with a “get” to attitude over the “have to” norm serves as a beautiful testimony and sets the standard for what being a total athlete truly looks like.

Casey Sutherland - NCAA Division I Baseball, Boston Red Sox

"Meeting with [Hanna] has given me the confidence to reach out to others and provide them an opportunity to open up about their personal life and/or personal faith. Simply as a person, meeting with [her] has helped me grow as [she] challenges others to be closer to God while also reminding them that they are already loved. While it may not seem like such a big deal, [Hanna's] availability and willingness to give [her] time and energy to others is one of the most important aspects of [her] discipleship. It does not matter what the situation is or what [her] life looks like at a specific moment, [Hanna is] willing to drop everything for the people [in her] care and that speaks a lot to the person that [she is]."

Casey is a stand out Pitcher for Davidson College, but you would never know it by the way he humbly carries himself (both on and off the field) and by the ease in which he approaches life and sport through His faith in a sovereign, loving God. In so much as Casey is an incredible asset to the Wildcat team, he daily improves the lives of those around him by genuinely walking out the principles he learns and abides by, inspiring others to do the same.

Maddie Hunter - NCAA Division I Track, Field, XC

"As student-athletes, we have a special platform with which can act as leaders in our community. From the field/court to the classroom, we are visible in our community, especially at a small school like Davidson where our blue Powerade bottles signify our affiliation with a Varsity sport. Therefore, our actions and words matter.

As Christians this platform gives us the opportunity to witness to our fellow teammates and classmates. The way we treat our teammates, the manner with which we tackle adversity, the respect we give our coaches, the love we display in every act... Personally, I have been able to [include] many of my fellow teammates... due to [the organization's] openness to all athletes who are at various stages in their relationship with God.”

Maddie's genuine love and care for her team, her fellow students, and her entire community is as stunning to witness as is the beauty and success with which she runs.

Kianna Speight - NCAA Division I Basketball

“I’m honestly so glad God has brought you into my life. We have the best talks that I will forever be grateful for... thank youuuu!”

If there were ever a word to describe Kianna as both an athlete and person, resilient would be the one. From knee surgery to a broken hand and everything in between, Kianna continues to fight through adversity in order give her team the best chance for success through her skills as a basketball player and her heart to help her team win games.

Kianna's determination to be the best athlete she can be, even when her injuries force her to adapt the way her preparation looks from time to time, is a remarkable asset to her team and speaks volumes to the kind of person she is both on and off the court.

Hunter Costa - NCAA Division I Wrestling

"Thanks so much for the chat today... [on the mat] I felt much happier and more relaxed [as a result]!"

Statistically speaking, Hunter is a beast, but his talent pales in comparison to the quality of heart and character that he possesses. Hunter is hungry to learn, and the impact he has as both a person and an athlete has a profound impact on everyone around him, most especially his fellow wrestlers at Davidson: from team chemistry to an overall attitude and determination to win.
